ASSASSIN’S CREED UNITY
The Assassin’s Creed series is about an ongoing war between assassin’s and templars, but the real star is always the location. The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity takes place during the French revolution, and the latest trailer shows off just what a beautiful version of Paris the team at Ubisoft has built. It’s the perfect backdrop for stabbing dudes in the neck. The game will be available on October 28th.
CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE
It’s hard not to get a Titanfall vibe from the next Call of Duty, which moves the series into the future with a decidedly sci-fi aesthetic. But the new gadgets and technology hasn’t had an impact on Call of Duty‘s love of spectacle: the latest trailer takes place on a collapsing bridge and contains an untold number of explosions. You’ll be able to experience the mayhem for yourself on November 4th.
QUANTUM BREAK
The developers of Quantum Break — a curious TV / video game crossover from the team behind Alan Wake — have been very quiet since it was first announced. But on stage in Germany today, we finally got an extended glimpse at how the game will actually play. Spoiler: there are lots of crazy time control mechanics to play around with. Unfortunately, we still don’t know exactly when you’ll be able to play it for yourself.
RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER
One of 2013’s most pleasant surprises was the reboot of Tomb Raider, which featured Lara Croft in a much darker game than fans were used to. It worked well, so it’s no surprise that a sequel is on the way with Rise of the Tomb Raider. What is surprising? It’s going to be an Xbox exclusive when it launches next year.

It wasn’t all blockbusters and explosions on stage today. Below, the next release fromSuperbrothers: Sword & Sworcery developer Capy Games is one of the Xbox One’s most intriguing titles, blending a dark, atmospheric world with some punishing exploration-based gameplay. There’s currently no release date.
TEARAWAY UNFOLDED
The ridiculously adorable Tearaway is one of the Vita’s best games, and now developer Media Molecule — best known for LittleBigPlanet — is bringing the experience to the PlayStation 4. It looks every bit as charming, and like its handheld predecessor, Tearaway Unfolded will use the PS4’s unique features to offer brand new gameplay ideas.
BLOODBORNE
First announced at E3, Bloodborne is a dark new adventure from the devious minds behindDark Souls. At Gamescom we got a first look at the gameplay and action, and it’s just as bloody and gothic as you could hope for. The game is expected to hit the PS4 sometime next year.
RIME
Rime has a similar vibe to some of the most fondly remembered games of all time, most notably Ico and Journey. Its beautiful, magical world is bursting with life and color, and it’s all on display in the game’s second trailer. We can’t wait to get lost in it, though its release date on PS4 is still unannounced.
