The 2021/22 Italian Serie A Season

The 2021-22 Italian league is going to be the 120th edition of the competition. Italy’s prime competition will go underway in the next few months. The previous season was a shocker. It was more exciting than we thought it would have been.

Inter Milan broke Juventus’s nine-year stint of defending the trophy successfully. At the beginning of last season, AC Milan was showing a lot of strength, consistency, and prowess. They slowed down when injuries began to kick in.

Antonio Conte delivered Nerazzuri’s first league title trophy in 11 years.  Inter Milan’s star-studded team beat every major opposition to clinch the trophy. Ronaldo, one of the best players in football history, won the Italian Golden boot.

The 36-year-old Portuguese superstar is not showing any signs of slowing down. It might be too early to predict the winner of the upcoming league.

We can still point out some big favorites based on their performance last season. As you read further, you will get an oversight on the upcoming Serie A season.

Favorites for 2021-2022 Serie A Trophy

The top three early favorites for next season’s league cup are Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus. Teams like Napoli, Roma, and Lazio can also pull up surprise performances to clinch the trophy.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan is the favorite to retain their Serie A crown. They won last season’s Serie A trophy with four matches left to play. This star-studded team put an end to Juventus’s nine years of domestic dominance.

Inter hadn’t been at the top of their game since their 2010 Champions league triumph. They surged forward under the guidance of Antonio Conte to clinch the title. Simeone Inzaghi will take over from Antonio Conte this new season.

They have a higher probability of defending their title. Just like every European team, Inter Milan is facing a major economic crisis. The 2020 COVID-19 football break was bad for business for many of football’s top clubs. Inter Milan’s revenue dropped by a wide margin.

The club has some plans to sell some of its top players this coming transfer window. This suspected move prompted Antonio Conte to drop his job.

AC Milan

AC Milan improved by a wide margin in the 2020-21 season. Italy’s sleeping giant pulled up a serious performance last season. They didn’t win any trophy last season. AC Milan qualified for the 2021-22 champions’ league season amongst ups and downs.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates were on top of the table for multiple weeks at the beginning of the season. One major hindrance to this team was consistent injuries to key players.

If they had a fit squad throughout the season, who knows what they could have achieved? They showed true team spirit and a drive to win. They will have a good shot at this year’s Serie A cup.

Juventus

Juventus had a domestic season to forget in the 2020-21 season. It was obvious that Andreas Pirlo lacked the experience to steer the team to success. The Old Lady managed to qualify for the 2021-22 champions’ league season. The team also beat Atlanta to win the Copa Italia trophy.

Napoli’s slipup in the last game gave Juventus the chance to finish fourth in the league. Massimiliano Allegri is coming back to manage the team.

During his five-year stint at the club, he won five consecutive Serie A titles. He could be the man to steer Juve to Italy’s prime cup.

We shouldn’t forget that there is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese winger might not be as fast and dangerous as he was in his younger years. CR7 is still capable of delivering results for Italy’s best team. Visit the best betting sites in India to get odds for the 2021/22 Serie A games.

Will Fans be Allowed in the 2021-22 Italian Campaign?

There is no information on the number of fans that will be allowed in stadiums this coming season. Towards the end of last season, about 1000 home fans were allowed to watch games. The Italian football committee will give updates soon.

The Italian Serie A has not been more popular than ever before. The appearance of Cristiano Ronaldo changed everything. Many other star players like Eriksen, Lukaku, Ashley Young have helped to attract attention to Italy’s domestic league.

More fans are watching the league. The spirit of competitiveness in Italy’s prime league has been revived as Inter Milan ended Juventus’s nine-year run. AC Milan, Napoli, and Roma are also showing signs of promise. The 2021-2022 season will be more exciting than we think.
