All Video Game Releases Coming in 2023 For PS5 And PS4
2022 has ended, and the year is still PlayStation owners busy. The year produced games like Elden Ring, Gran Turismo 7, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, all games that garnered critical acclaim.
The PlayStation 5 library is consistently expanding, and the best is presumably yet to come for Sony’s current console. In the meantime, the PlayStation 4 continues to receive love with cross-generation titles, so people who have yet to upgrade still have plenty to look forward to.
PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In January 2023
January has gotten the 2023 gaming calendar off to a respectable start. While the first half of the month lacked much in the way of releases, which was to be expected, the month picked up considerably with an anime-heavy week. DBZ: Kakarot made its way to current-genre hardware on the same day that One Piece Odyssey debuted. A turn-based JRPG, the latter is one of the better titles starring the Straw Hat pirates.
January 19, 2023, was all about turn-based JRPGs as Atlus ported Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden to the PS4. Blending dungeon crawling with social sim mechanics, both games are highly-respected projects with campaigns that last more than 50 hours.
January starts weak but ends strong. Square Enix’s Forspoken is a PS5 console-exclusive action RPG with a heavy focus on story and traversal mechanics. Purple Lamp GmbH, the studio that handled SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, will be releasing a brand-new game starring everyone’s favorite Nickelodeon mascot called SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. EA’s Dead Space Remake is also a fantastic modern update on a sci-fi horror classic.

PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In March 2023
2023 is set for an exciting opening quarter, concluding with a month packed to the brim with major releases. Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has steadily amassed momentum to become one of the year’s most highly anticipated early releases, particularly for fans of the developer’s Ninja Gaiden and Nioh franchises. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse might be more than a decade old by this point, but the horror game will be making its Western debut in March 2023.
People looking for a sci-fi Soulslike can pick up Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Fallen Order. The original game was well received, so there is hope that its successor can build upon its predecessor’s momentum. Capcom’s string of remakes is set to continue with Resident Evil 4, which is generally considered to be among the franchise’s greatest entries. So far, the remake seems high quality.

PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In April 2023
April is not yet overly packed with games, although PS5 and PS4 owners have a few things to look forward to. Hogwarts Legacy‘s last-gen iteration should be debuting on April 4, a couple of months after the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions. These releases tend to be overshadowed by their more console-relevant counterparts, but hopefully, it is a good port of the game.
Capcom will be releasing Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, a compilation containing all 10 games released in the franchise. It should be noted that only six games are truly unique since four entries in the series received dual releases similar to Pokemon. Adapting the popular platform franchise for an RPG format, Mega Man Battle Network had an enjoyable run on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, with each game offering close to 20 hours of content.
PS5 owners who loved Horizon Forbidden West have the Burning Shores expansion to look forward to, which is set to take place in this universe’s version of Los Angeles. April is primed to end with the debut of Dead Island 2, and the long-awaited open-world sequel is also set in the City of Angels, along with San Francisco.

Major Games In Development With A Post-2023 Debut Or No Release Year
As games spend years in development, plenty of projects are known to be in the works but have yet to announce anything resembling a release year. While it is not completely out of the question that some of these titles could be released in 2023, the developers have not given any indication of that being the case.
Death Stranding 2, Slitterhead, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, and Beyond Good and Evil 2 are some of the biggest games in the works, all of which will attract plenty of attention once they debut. Most of these titles are presumably a few years away, although there is always a chance they could be announced in 2022. Some other massive titles are Kingdom Hearts 4, Grand Theft Auto 6, Judas, and The Elder Scrolls 6.

Rumored PS5 & PS4 Games
Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt; that said, speculating about what unrevealed titles are secretly in development for the PS5 can be a lot of fun. While nothing has been confirmed, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Grand Theft Auto 6, and Marvel Spider-Man 2 are fairly safe bets.
With the PS5 picking up momentum, rumors have started making the rounds as people begin to speculate on what games they would love to see make an appearance on the console. Could these releases take the form of long-overdue sequels? Much needed remakes? Or could there be some new IP in the works that will become the new GTA?
