Amazon’s Fire TV Stick for Video Streaming
Amazon is introducing the Fire TV Stick and just announced a Chromecast like streaming device that exists entirely in a small stick that plugs into a TV’s HDMI port. Amazon Fir Stick is more capable than Google’s Chromecast, with four times as much internal storage (8GB) and twice as much memory. It also has a dual-core processor and comes with a remote.
The Fire TV Stick presents the same interface as the standard Fire TV, presenting access to Prime Streaming as well as Hulu, HBO Go, YouTube, Pandora, Watch ESPN, and a number of other major streaming services. You’re also able to play games on it, though you’ll probably want a game controller, which is sold separately. A remote that works with voice search is also sold separately, though there’s a Fire TV Remote App for Android that you can use instead.
The Stick goes on sale for $39 beginning November 19th and is currently available for preorder.
