Apple is Launching a Cheaper MacBook Air Later This Year
If you in the market for a new laptop in 2018, you might want to wait a couple more months, because Apple is anticipated to launch a cheaper new MacBook Air soon.
That’s from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who makes quite accurate predictions. 9to5Mac relayed Kuo’s prediction about a new MacBook Air with “a lower price tag” and you can expect it in the second quarter of this year, and this step will help Apple boost its laptop shipments by 10-15 percent in 2018.
It is brilliant news for MacBook Air fans, and who will want some really good portable laptop with long battery life. The current generation presently starts at $999, which we can’t say is cheap; lower prices will help Apple fight with a broader pool of hardware producers who build Windows operating laptops, as well as superior Chromebooks.
Apple would equip its new computers with custom processors we heard back in January, Bloomberg noted at the time that at least two laptops were about to come with new chips.
So hold your horse’s new cheaper MacBook Air is coming.
