Apple Revealed AirPods Max, And They Are Expensive
Apple has revealed an incredibly expensive over-ear model of its famous AirPods headphone line. The AirPods Max Pros are available to preorder now for a cost of $549. If you want one then there is some good news, you won’t have to wait long, as the AirPods Max will be released on December 15.
The AirPods Max uses the AirPods Pro as a base by giving the same features, which include the transparency mode, spatial surround-sound, audio sharing, active noise cancellation, and Siri. Essentially, Apple has packed all of the awesome techs from the AirPods Pro into a traditional over-ear design with 40mm drivers.
The cushions of the headphones are made of knitted memory foam, which seems quite comfortable for longer periods of use. It appears that swapping out the cushions will also be a thing, as they connect via a magnet and you can change very easily. The headband is stainless steel and specifically designed to conform to your head’s shape and will be very comfortable and secure. On a full charge, the AirPods Max will last 20 hours.
The AirPods Max will be available in five colors at release: silver, space gray, green, sky blue, and pink. Each pair of headphones comes with a matching smart case to keep them safe when not in use.
The AirPods Max doesn’t sound as if they bring anything new to the table that you can’t already find in premium Sony or Bose headphones–which can be bought for half the price or even less. That said, the AirPods Pro is still quite famous today despite a relatively expensive then the most premium earbuds.
