Apple Slowing Down Older iPhones With Degraded Batteries Video Proof Is Here
Apple confirmed that older iPhones with degraded batteries are slowed down on purpose to improve performance on the battery and from phones to shutting down. Now we have a video which will prove this phenomenon.
You will see two iPhone 6S handsets, one has a battery with low wear of around 1 percent, the other one has a battery with high wear of around 30 percent. Video created by GeekBench and they will run both handsets side by side to note the difference in performance between the two devices.
The iPhone 6S with the low battery wear posted a single-core score of 2526 and a multi-core score of 4462. The iPhone 6S with the 30% battery wear posted a single-core score of 1965 and a multi-core score of 3841.
This is quite a significant change in the performance of the phones.
Apple has said that the reason it is slowing down the processors on handsets where the battery is degraded is to stop random shutdowns. If you own an old iPhone you can try changing the battery which I will do the same to my phone as well and ass how well it performs then will update you guys with the results. So stay tuned.
