Battlefield 1

Campaign: Friends in High Places

  • Fall From Grace
    • Field Manual #1: Right as you start the mission, you’ll need to kill an enemy sentry. After that, circle around to the backyard shed. Further down the path, near the shed, there’s a wheelbarrow with the field manual crate.
    • Field Manual #2: Go down into the cluster of buildings down the hill to the village. There’s a large bonfire near the weapon tent. Go to the shed behind the building around the village exterior to find a manual crate. It’s right next to a giant muddy puddle.
    • Field Manual #3: Further into the ruined village, look inside the army tent on the right side of the encampment, near the German’s trench line. The tents is filled with beds — at the second row, there’s a collectible crate near a wooden chest.
    • Field Manual #4: Head into the trenches. There’s an alarm tower near a large weapon tent — continue down the passage nearby — go up the stairs and turn right, following the wooden planks that form a path. Jump the trench gap ahead, and look near the piles of ruined crates near the left-hand wooden path in the No Man’s Land to finally find this tricky field manual.
    • Field Manual #5: Directly to the right of Field Manual #4, head into the trenches, follow the stairs up and enter the concrete bunker with the spotlight. The last field manual is located inside, right on the edge of the playable area.
  • Forte Et Fidele
    • Field Manual #1: There’s only one field manual in this level. Partially through the area of the zeppelin filled with the metal containers, look for a darkened alcove on the right. You’ll find it after an encounter with several soldiers, right before reaching the Flak Gun objective.

Battlefield 1

Campaign: Avanti Savoia!

  • O La Vittoria
    • Field Manual #1: At the St. Anastasia church capture point, go through the church and follow the road to the right. At the first building on the left, look inside to grab the chapter’s first manual collectible.
    • Field Manual #2: Continue up the road where the two Armored Trucks appear. Enter the trenches on the left and look in the corner storage area with a rickety wooden roof cover.
    • Field Manual #3: Beneath the “Assault the Artillery Gun” objective marker, halfway up the steep hill, you’ll find a small trench on the left side of the dirt path. The trench has a wooden roof, and is found directly down the hill from an MG turret. The trench is one short, straight path, and the field manual is clearly visible once you find it.
    • Field Manual #4: Follow the objective marker into the underground bunker. As you take the stairs down and enter the room with the artillery gun, turn right to spot the manual box in the corner.
    • Field Manual #5: After disabling the artillery gun, continue up the hill toward the Anti-Aircraft gun objective. Just outside the AA gun’s location, there’s another small trench area with a wooden roof on the right. Look opposite the MG emplacement to spot the chapter’s last manual.
  • O Tutti Acopatti
    • Field Manual #1: Follow the trenches down the hill during the “Search for Matteo” objective. There’s a barn opposite the Alpini Lodges defense location with a field manual crate.
    • Field Manual #2: After completing the defense, go down the hill and explore the trenches at the left objective marker. Inside the bunker, you’ll find Matteo’s unit and a collectible crate.
    • Field Manual #3: Next, head towards the fort using the right-hand method — circling around the back instead of going through the underground. Follow the dirt path from the concrete wall (with firing port) — make sure you don’t actually enter the concrete wall, use the mountain path — upward to a bunker entrance beneath the fort proper. There’s a small room below with this field manual.
    • Field Manual #4: Go back and enter the concrete wall. There are many burnt-out concrete structures in the central area of the HQ. Clear the Austrian soldiers, and look at the exterior wall, behind the right-hand concrete two-story structure.
    • Field Manual #5: At the center of the same base, there are steps leading down into a larger bunker. If you have the objective to “Clear the Austrian Horn” — going down to this bunker will count as leaving the map. Rush to the crate located between the back bunk beds on the left.

Battlefield 1

Campaign: Through Mud and Blood

  • Over the Top
    • Field Manual #1: After capturing Point C in the village, push up the hill until you reach an area with four Field Guns. There’s a Weapon Tent in this area — look to the right of the tent for the manual crate.
    • Field Manual #2: In the town under bombardment, move to the right-side to the fortified church. There’s a makeshift hospital / barrack with beds lined up inside the structure. Near the large pots, there’s a crate containing this manual.
    • Field Manual #3: Another crate is located at the chapel — leave through the back entrance. From here, turn right (left if you’re facing the chapel) to find the container along the exterior of the church structure, next to a large green metal wheel.
    • Field Manual #4: At Point D, the farm with trenches dug through the premises, you’ll find a crate near the home on the right, on the grass between the structure and the trench.
    • Field Manual #5: Follow the road up from the outpost. The road leads up a hill, and is dotted with abandoned cars with AT guns hitched to the back. On the ground next to one of these cannons, you’ll find the fifth manual. This is right before the bridge at the end of the mission.
  • Fog of War
    • Field Manual #1: Early in the mission, fight through the gun emplacements past the wooden bridge. There are two field guns — clear the area. After Bess drives through the barbed wire, turn right and head up the hill to find a hidden manual crate.
    • Field Manual #2: In the old church stone ruins (with the arches above ground, this is the second area you must clear) enter the bunker basement and look in the back-left corner, opposite the generator.
    • Field Manual #3: At the heavy bridge with metal girders built over the small creek, look underneath the bridge (on the far end) for a small flatland with this manual.
    • Field Manual #4: Once you reach the hill with the large concrete bunkers, enter the left-most bunker — the crate is inside.
    • Field Manual #5: In the same area, there’s a small supply depot (with a Weapons Tent) on the right from the entrance (opposite the concrete bunker with manual #4). Look near the road, behind mounds of dirt, for a small crate nestled around the larger supply crates.
  • Breakdown
    • Field Manual #1: Move toward the objective in the first muddy village area with the objective at the center. Before going straight for the white objective marker, look in the shack door in the back-left corner of the block. There’s a good view of a nearby windmill down the hill from this structure.
    • Field Manual #2: Get down the hill and look inside the windmill to the left of the Weapon Tent — there’s a dirt path and a simple fence between #1 and the windmill containing manual #2. Climb to the top of the mill to find the crate.
    • Field Manual #3: There’s a refueling station and repair depot for tanks in the village below the #2 windmill. Go to the third floor attic of the building directly next to the tank repair station in the village. It’s the large building with tarps in the top floor — look behind the tarps to find your crate.
    • Field Manual #4: In the same town, go to the repair station on the right side and find a two-story building behind the Weapon Tent. Go upstairs to the MG nest to find the crate behind some furniture.
    • Field Manual #5: At the salvaged engine near the stone bridge, head up the street to a farm house past the objective marker. Opposite the Weapon Tent, there’s a storage shack with this crate.
  • Steel on Steel
    • Field Manual #1: Look in the first windmill to find a crate containing your first Field Manual. You’ll have to exit your tank to enter the windmill. This is the upper-most windmill, before going completely down the hill toward the town.
    • Field Manual #2: From the previous windmill, go down the hill, past the ruined encampment, and move right toward the river. There’s another windmill further down (next to the water) that contains a second Field Manual in the exact same location.
    • Field Manual #3: Yet another windmill. This is found in the windmill on the left side from the start — see it opposite #2, or left of #1. It’s down the hill, at about the same elevation as #2.
    • Field Manual #4: Push through the town, and as you exit the main cluster of structures, you’ll run into a fourth windmill on the right of the street, next to the river with the stone bridge.
    • Field Manual #5: From #4, look in the distance for another windmill across the valley on a hill overlooking the next cluster of buildings, to the right as you move forward. That’s the site of this section’s final manual. Cross the stone bridge and move up the hill to reach it.

Battlefield 1

Campaign: The Runner

  • Cape Helles
    • Field Manual #1: Just as you step off the boat, move down the left side of the beach. Eventually you’ll find a crate with a manual — it isn’t far from the waves. It’s past the first trench path, so it can be tricky to collect with the Field Guns and MG turrets still active above.
    • Field Manual #2: From manual #1, push up the hill and into the giant cratered area on the side of the mountain. Part of the way into the crater, look for a trench path on the right edge. Follow the trench to a shooting position with this manual.
    • Field Manual #3: On the far-left side of the beach, climb up to the AT Gun shooting position above the large fire. In an alcove next to the AT Gun, you’ll find this crate.
    • Field Manual #4: There’s a barn structure up the hill and to the left of the path toward Point A. This structure is hard to miss, it’s all on its own outside the capture objective. The manual crate is in an alcove on the exterior.
    • Field Manual #5: At the Helles Overlook (Point A) look for the house adjacent to the flag. The manual is inside the backyard shack.
  • The Runner
    • Field Manual #1: Look toward the ridge covered with cannons and sandbag emplacements. Enter the house on the far end of this shooting position (on the right side of the ruined village) to find the hidden collectible crate.
    • Field Manual #2: This one can be tricky. Look for the crate in the middle of a grassy field on the left-side of the town — just head up the hill (left of Manual #1) to find it. It’s just in the open, near the winding dirt path that leads left out of the village.
    • Field Manual #3: Go to the house beneath the stone fort, left of the village, on the hill with some camo netting planted in the yard. The collectible is near the door.
    • Field Manual #4: Find this in the central room of the domed structure at the far end of the village. This is the building being shelled where your allies are holed up.
    • Field Manual #5: Getting the objective to “Inform Rear Command” after defending — move toward the objective. You’ll find a building on the left with a missing roof and a parked car on the road. The crate is near the front door of the ruined building.
  • Be Safe
    • Field Manual #1: Beneath the massive fort, jump into the old three-story stone tower with a sniper on the roof. Climb the ladder inside to find the field manual on the second floor.
    • Field Manual #2: Take the steps up to the walls of the fort after the cutscene. Move left along the artillery battery to find the manual crate near the taller section of battlements.
    • Field Manual #3: The second manual crate in the area is on the right as you reach the fort wall. Look inside the square building near the artillery battery — it may more may not be completely destroyed.
    • Field Manual #4: Further right of manual #3 in this chapter, enter the interior bunker hallway to find a dead-end room with this crate. It’s very close to manual #3, but can be easy to miss.
    • Field Manual #5: At the top of the fort, you’ll get the objective to “Capture the Courtyard” — there’s a small single room shed across from the entrance, and very conspicuous in the frantic warzone. The last manual for this war story is found inside.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight
    • Field Manual #1: Search the crashed train cars for the first collectible in this war story. It is found in a red car that’s still upright, to the right of the objective hatch.
    • Field Manual #2: Directly left of the crash site, there are some step-like cliffs that form a hill. Climb up to the top to find the crate here. It isn’t on the top — but one step below the top.
    • Field Manual #3: Between Field Manual #1 and #2, there’s a steep rock jutting out just to the left of the train crash site, near the train tracks. Find a collectible crate behind the rocks.
    • Field Manual #4: Behind the train tracks, there’s a faint dirt road near a tent. Look to the right of this road to find another crate next to some steep rocks. Once again, it’s just out in the open.
    • Field Manual #5: Climb the high sand dune behind the train crash to spot a tent with a light tank parked nearby. The last manual is on the rocks next to this tent.
  • Young Men’s Work
    • Field Manual #1: Turn around at the starting point and face the village. Enter the canyons to the right of the village to find a dimly lit encampment. There’s a crate under the camo netting in this shallow trench.
    • Field Manual #2: Climb the steep hill past the ruins (one of the officer locations) area to find a handful of discarded crates. The field manual is among those crates.
    • Field Manual #3: At the Weapons Depot (officer location) search the bottom floor of the large white structure in the corner of the base. The commander usually patrols that structure.
    • Field Manual #4: Go to the village and look for a water tower — its the one in the back-left, left of the pigeon cages. Climb the ladder to find the collectible crate at the top.
    • Field Manual #5: In the same village, go to the opposite side of town and find a small building with a fence just off the main road. Look inside this small house to locate the next collectible.

Campaign: Nothing Is Written

  • Hear the Desert
    • Field Manual #1: Turn right from the objective village to find a small two-structure compound on the outskirts. The crate is found in the smaller of the two buildings.
    • Field Manual #2: From manual #1, continue toward the water tower in the far distance. You’ll reach a sandbag encampment with a red flag — next to that, the collectible crate is near a rock, out in the open.
    • Field Manual #3: Continue toward the water tower next to the train tracks. The crate is mounted by some rocks in the sand directly right of the water tower.
    • Field Manual #4: Go to the building where the officer was located in the previous chapter (the two-story HQ building) and you’ll find the manual crate in the bottom floor.
    • Field Manual #5: From the start of the map, you’ll find the last collectible in the bombed-out small buildings across from the water tower, down the hill from the larger two-story compound.
      • Hidden in Plain Sight
        • Field Manual #1: Search the crashed train cars for the first collectible in this war story. It is found in a red car that’s still upright, to the right of the objective hatch.

        • Field Manual #4: Behind the train tracks, there’s a faint dirt road near a tent. Look to the right of this road to find another crate next to some steep rocks. Once again, it’s just out in the open.
