Battlefield 4 Trailer Puts the Spotlight on Multiplayer
While DICE claims they have improved the singleplayer experience for Battlefield 4, everyone knows that the multiplayer is the most integral part of the franchise. It’s been that way since the series’ inception, and only continues to be true today.
With that in mind, Electronic Arts has released a new trailer for Battlefield 4 that is all about the multiplayer. It’s not as detailed or as involved as previous multiplayer trailers, mind you, but gives players a solid overview of what’s in store for them come October.
As in past Battlefield games, players will be able to dictate their experience in the multiplayer. They can fly solo or choose to roll with a squad of up to five players, with either approach presumably feeling viable online.

However, if players want even more control while online, they can opt to take complete control with the Commander Mode. Once a staple of the Battlefield franchise, Commander mode is back, putting a single player in charge of coordinating their entire team. At E3 2013, we saw the Commander Mode in action, but unfortunately our preview was relegated to the more familiar FPS experience.
The trailer also touches upon some Battlefield 4 features that DICE has previously detailed in full, like customization and vehicle warfare. For as much as Battlefield 4 is a FPS experience, vehicles have always been a major showpiece for the franchise, and that doesn’t appear to change here. In fact, Battlefield 4 is taking things a step further, by giving players even more opportunities to battle on land, sea, and air.
