BAFTA has unveiled the list of 2020 nominations for the Games Awards, and it’s a huge list of the most prosperous indie and AAA games from 2019.

The Games Awards celebrates both the UK and international development teams, and the event will happen on April 2nd with live streaming on BAFTA’s Facebook, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube channels.

Both Control and Death Stranding received 11 nominations, which is the highest number for a game in the history of the Games Awards. Indie games like Disco Elysium, Life is Strange 2, Outer Wilds, and Untitled Goose Game also received multiple nominations, in addition to expected nominations for some of 2019’s biggest AAA titles.

New categories were added for this year’s event, celebrating Animation, Technical Achievement, Performers in a Leading Role, and Performers in a Supporting Role.

Hideo Kojima, the creative mind behind Death Stranding, will receive the Fellowship accolade, which is representative of the extraordinary career he’s had in the games business.
