Bethesda Thinks Fallout 76 Will Last Forever
When Blizzard launched World of Warcraft, it basically meant that its Warcraft RTS franchise was put on hold. Because of the ever-changing nature of the MMORPG, it would be hard to make a story for Warcraft without it messing up or contradicting the events that take place in the game. Since then we have yet to see a new Warcraft game.
So could the same be happening with Bethesda’s Fallout? You never know, but we do know that Bethesda sees Fallout 76 as a game that they want to last “forever”. Bethesda’s Pete Hines was recently asked how long he sees the game lasting for, and he replied by saying, “forever”.
Hines says, “So Fallout 76, our timeline is in perpetuity. Now what that content is gonna be, and what that’s gonna look like, I’m not sure. Part of our thing is we need to get people in the game and see how they respond.” He cites some of Bethesda’s older titles such as Morrowind, Fallout 4, or Skyrim, in which players are continuing to play the game despite some of them getting a bit long in the tooth.
He adds, “So 76 is going to be like that. We have some ideas for this and that, but let’s see what people want more of. Let’s see what they respond to and support that.” Fallout 76 is currently set for a release on the 14th of November, 2018 with Bethesda currently accepting pre-orders for the game which will also grant players access to the beta.
