Mark Lingwood, landlord of the Westbourne pub in Swansea. Started a new trend with £20,000 innovation. The Westbourne is, apparently, Britain’s first iPub. What happens is this: There are a bunch of iPads fixed to the tables. Drinkers buy a special card which they place on the iPad sensor, and then punters can pour their own pints. The tablets are fixed to tables at the digital-friendly boozer.
Pumps on three of the tables. Which means no more queues, no more trying to squeeze past people while desperately trying to hold four pints at once. This is some new innovation in bars and it started at the right place, Great Britain. Source Daily Mail.
