CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 4 Will Soon Release The Single-Player Campaign
Many sources are saying that the upcoming game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, will not feature a single-player story mode, that has always been part of previous installments in the franchise before. This change in direction would mean that Black Ops 4 will be the first main Call of Duty game to release without a single-player campaign.
The sources who remained anonymous revealed that the dev team realized that the development of the single-player campaign would not be finished in time for the game’s release date. Furthermore, one of the sources said that the team has focused on expanding the game’s multiplayer feature and the ever-popular Zombies mode. It has also been said that the game will highlight the co-op modes to compensate for the absence of a single-player campaign.
Looking at the Black Ops 4’s official tagline, “forget what you know,” this may be Activision’s way of telling fans to keep an open mind to the significant changes coming into the game. Of course, given that the developer did not reject or confirm the information leaked by the anonymous sources, there is no real way to tell if the game will indeed drop the single-player campaign. The best thing to do right now is to wait for the official reveal of the game on May 17.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated for release on October 12, 2018, for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. More information will be revealed on May 17, and on this year’s E3 in June.
