Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Going to Feature Raids
Activision revealed the addition of cooperative Raids into Modern Warfare 2. With only a few weeks left until October, Activision and Infinity Ward are gearing up for the launch of the highly anticipated Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Already, the company has offered brief details on the upcoming game, even revealed parts of the reworked Dark Waters single player mission for Modern Warfare 2, where players infiltrate an oil rig with a worsening storm rocking things around.
However, after trailers and news posts, today offered fans the look at the next game through the Call of Duty Next Showcase Event. As promised by Activision, players got to see all kinds of new content including the full Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal.
Kelly started off by commenting on the studio’s desire to improve and innovate on “every area of the game” before going into specifics like a dedicated third-person perspective option, Battle Royale, DMZ, and more. Kelly then went on to detail upcoming content once Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is released in full, which not only includes the release of Warzone 2.0, but following that will be the first ever Raid.
Outside of the pledge of big things coming to the game after its release, the showcase event turned over to the multiplayer and Warzone gameplay reveals. While there were a ton of Modern Warfare 2 leaks ahead of the event, the trailer gave fans a glimpse at some new content and modes like Prisoner Rescue, tasking one team to rescue a VIP while the other team tries to stop them. The famous Gunsmith mode has also been made bigger and better based on the trailer, letting fans fully customize their weapons and giving players a vast variety of options to really personalize their gear.
