CALL OF DUTY: VANGUARD

Last Thursday was brilliant for the Call of Duty fans. Those who engaged in the Battle of Verdansk event were given the taste of the world reveal of Sledgehammer Games’ next game in the franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard. This new game is trying to be a very important step for the path that the series is going down in many ways. Let’s jump into it!

The single-player campaign will be an interweaving story about four multinational heroes that  Task Force One, setting the stage for Special Forces. You’ll get to battle in the Eastern and Western Fronts of Europe, the Pacific, and North Africa.

The heroes in the game are:

  • Private Lucas Riggs, 20th Battalion, Australian 9th Infantry Division, British Eighth Army.

  • Sergeant Arthur Kingsley of the 9th Parachute Battalion, British Army.

  • Lieutenant Wade Jackson, Scouting Squadron Six, United States Navy.

  • Lieutenant Polina Petrova of the 138th Rifle Division, Red Army.

On day one, multiplayer will come with 20 awesome maps for players to join in. This is very huge as I can’t recall a game in the series that released with anywhere near as many as this one will. The game will also come with an advanced Gunsmith and Caliber system that’ll bring immersion to the next level. The 2v2 Gunfight mode revealed in Modern Warfare returns, this time as Champion Hill.

Look for more news about the game in the worldwide Multiplayer reveal coming soon, which comes with information on the forthcoming Open Beta. PlayStation players will get a first glimpse at the game as there’s an alpha for Champion Hill running August 27 – 29.

The all-new Zombies game mode for Vanguard will advance the story led forth by Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, serving as a precursor and is led by Treyarch Studios. More news on Zombies will be released closer to Halloween, possibly during an in-game seasonal event.

New updates are coming to Warzone to match with Vanguard as well, being helmed by Raven Software. There’s a new map, one bigger than Verdansk, which we’ve come to know, as well as a new anti-cheat system. Progression for your account will continue to be a universal thing between Warzone, MW, BOCW, and Vanguard going forward too. This also covers your Battle Pass progression and acquired Store Bundles.
