Counter-Strike 2 Confirmed For Summer 2023 Release
Valve, the game developer behind the popular first-person shooter game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), has announced that a sequel to the game, called Counter-Strike 2, is in the works and will be arriving sooner than expected. While an exact release date has not been revealed yet, the game is expected to launch in the summer of 2023 and will run on Source Engine 2.
What’s more, the new game will be available as a free upgrade to existing CS:GO players. Valve has also opened up limited testing for some CS:GO players, with more information on how to become part of the testing program to be revealed soon.
According to a new CS2 website that has been launched, the game represents “the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history, ensuring new features and updates for years to come.” Valve has released several videos today that give players a sneak peek of what to expect from the new game.
One of the most exciting features of the game is the upgraded and overhauled maps, which promise to provide a fresh and exciting gameplay experience for players. Valve has also teased “game-changing” smoke grenades, which will add an extra layer of strategy and complexity to the game.
Another key improvement is tick-rate-independent gameplay, which will help ensure that the game runs smoothly and consistently for players, regardless of their internet connection. And of course, the game will feature redesigned visual effects and audio, which promise to deliver a more immersive and engaging experience overall.
Overall, the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 has generated a lot of excitement among fans of the series. With a summer 2023 release window, players won’t have to wait too long to experience the biggest technical leap forward in the history of the game.
