Diablo 4’s Most-Played Class Revealed
Blizzard’s CEO, Rod Fergusson, recently made an intriguing revelation about the highly anticipated game Diablo IV. Taking to Twitter, Fergusson, possibly without the official consent of Blizzard’s marketing and PR teams, shared that the Sorcerer/Sorceress class has emerged as the most popular class in the game at present.
It’s important to note that while this holds true currently, the landscape could change as Diablo IV continues to evolve. Fergusson amusingly added, “But you didn’t hear it from me,” suggesting a degree of secrecy surrounding this information.
In Diablo IV, players can choose from a diverse roster of five classes, including the Sorcerer, Barbarian, Rogue, Necromancer, and Druid. To aid players in their journey, GameSpot has provided detailed class guides that offer valuable insights and tips to get started on the right foot.
Diablo IV was released to the general public on June 6, and the overall launch has been relatively smooth. However, on June 8, players encountered significant login issues, which have since been largely resolved. Despite the improvements, there are concerns among some players about potential problems arising over the upcoming weekend.
I didn't ask for permission to share this but I thought you might be interested to know that right now, the number 1 most played class in #DiabloIV is the Sorcerer/Sorceress!

Fergusson addressed the server issues, attributing them to the game’s exceptional popularity and an unprecedented surge in concurrent players. He stated that Diablo IV has achieved “record highs” in terms of player concurrency. With this in mind, Fergusson advised fans to brace themselves for an “expected surge” during the upcoming weekend.
According to Blizzard, Diablo IV’s launch has become the biggest in the company’s history, surpassing the impressive sales figures of its predecessor, Diablo III. In its first 24 hours, Diablo IV sold more than 3.5 million copies, eclipsing Diablo III’s initial sales record. Additionally, the game outperformed the launch of World of Warcraft’s Shadowlands expansion, which sold over 3.7 million copies on its first day.
With the Sorcerer/Sorceress class reigning supreme and Diablo IV making waves in the gaming industry, anticipation and excitement continue to grow. Players are eagerly diving into the dark and treacherous world of Sanctuary, ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.
I apologize again for the downtime but we should be good to go again. Really appreciate your patience as we continue to hit record highs for concurrency and prepare for the expected surge this weekend. Thank you!
