Far Cry 4 Set Will Be In Himalayas
Ubisoft’s upcoming open world first-person shooter, Far Cry 4 will be set in Himalayas and it is slated for a March 2015 release, according to reports.
According to sources familiar with the project, Ubisoft intends to reveal Far Cry 4 during their E3 press conference in June and it will be release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, last gen development is unknown for now.
This brings in a drastic change, since Far Cry (2004) was set on a mysterious archipelago in Micronesia, Far Cry 2 (2008) was set in Africa and Far Cry 3 (2012) was set on a tropical island between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
The gameplay will be similar to FC3, with a similarly structured map and outposts for players to liberate. Far Cry 4 also brings in new features such as the ability to to ride elephants and more.
Far Cry 3 was released on November 29, 2012, as of February 2013, the game sold about 4.5 million units and a stand-alone expansion titled Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was released on April 30, 2013, it managed to sell over 1 million copies.
Far Cry 4 is reportedly set to release during Ubisoft’s next financial year, which ends in March 2015.
