FINAL FANTASY Crystal Chronicles Remaster Announced For PS4 And The Switch
Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, which was originally released to the GameCube back in 2003, is being remastered for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
A short trailer for the remaster released at the PlayStation Lineup Tour, which is a pre-Tokyo Game Show event. The original GameCube version of the game featured a hack and slash mechanics that had buttons assigned to perform specific moves. Crystal Chronicles was also famous due to the vast collection of puzzles that players must unlock to advance in the game.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles puts players in control of a group of adventurers who are on a mission to extract “myrrh” from rare trees to save the world from Miasma. The original game also featured a local multiplayer that was made possible by connecting Game Boy Advances via a link cable. Of course, the remaster is expected to replace this mechanic with online connectivity.
For now, no specific release date was announced, but Square Enix announced that the remaster of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will release in 2019.
