Google recently released the new Google Chromecast with Google TV for $50. The new gadget comes with everything you love about your current Chromecast, but with the added bonus of Google TV. It comes with 4K HDR video up to 60 frames-per-second with Dolby Vision. Oh, and there’s HDMI pass-through for Dolby audio content.

It comes with a remote. The remote comes with a microphone for use with Google Assistant. Of course, the greatest addition is Google TV. This feature allows you to sign in to your streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, but then the libraries are joined together on one screen so you don’t have to jump from app to app. This is a wonderful feature that hopefully works in practice. There will also be a For You tab that will give personalized recommendations for what to watch next. In addition, YouTube TV will let you show live television from over 85 channels as long as you have broadband internet (and a $65/month subscription). Google Stadia will be available in the first half of 2021.

The Google Chromecast with Google TV will be available in three colors: Snow, Sunrise, and Sky, and is available now in the United States. If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the U.K., you can pre-order yours now and it will be launched on October 15.
