Great Amount of Details Revealed For RESIDENT EVIL’s 25th Anniversary!
Capcom has released some amazing news with celebration releases for their hit horror game series, Resident Evil. So much was just revealed for the series as a whole and it’s easy to say that they have announced some really big news for everyone that has even the faintest bit of interest in Resident Evil. With news covering Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, collaborations, and a lot more, this will have to be broken down by the game.
Check out the Village trailer below:
To start up the announcement surrounding their upcoming game, Resident Evil Village. Watch the new trailer above for the game, but at the bottom of this game’s news you will find the newest game mode announced to comeback; The Mercenaries. Both of these videos show some fascinating aspects of the upcoming title.
The trailer itself shows that the mystery man from the previous trailer is Heisenberg. Even with this information, we don’t know what part he plays in Ethan’s quest to find his girl. Plus, Chris Redfield also makes an impression with dubious motives, creating more mystery as to what his role is. After watching this trailer, we find out that the action does not end once Ethan’s story ends.
After being highly demanded to make its comeback, The Mercenaries game mode is back. Players must perform increasingly challenging objectives before the timer runs out in this extra game mode, which is unlocked by finishing the main campaign. The Duke merchant from the main game appears in the mode, giving weapons and upgrades to help take the challenges. Additionally, players can get abilities that improve their weapons or physical capabilities.
Probably the most awesome part of the announcement for this game was the reveal of a time-limited demo for nearly all platforms. They will allow gamers one hour to investigate the village and castle areas of the game. This demo will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and Steam. Also, it will only be available for 24 hours beginning May 1 at 5 pm PT for North America, South America, and Latin America citizens, with a pre-load option beginning April 29 at 5 pm PT.
However, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players will have two early access events, where they will have an 8-hour window to play 30 minutes for each part. The first date will offer the village part starting April 17 at 5 pm PT with a pre-load option starting today at 4 pm PT. A second date will offer the castle area starting on April 24 at 5 pm PT with a pre-load option also starting today at 4 pm PT.
Resident Evil 4 VR
Now let’s go to the next big announcement, the rumored remaster of Resident Evil 4 is announced to be a VR release! That’s right, they revealed Resident Evil 4 VR and will be releasing it for the Oculus Quest 2. There isn’t any information regarding if they plan to bring it to other platforms, such as the PSVR, but they plan to release this announcement further on April 21st during the Oculus Gaming Showcase. You can find that event on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook at 3 pm PT, but for now, here is the announcement revealed from the showcase.
Dead by Daylight x Resident Evil
A collaboration between Behaviour Interactive and Capcom was unveiled with a short, detail-less trailer that reveals the June chapter for Dead by Daylight will feature Resident Evil characters. They don’t reveal the monster, although it is going to be Nemesis, nor do they show the survivor. However, we are sure to get more details on this chapter in the near future as the chapter gets closer to release. This is very exciting news and is easily going to make for a fabulous addition to the Killer and Survivor rosters of the successful 1v4 PvP game.
Resident Evil Anime Series on Netflix
Finally, we have the anime series that was announced to release on Netflix this coming July. We didn’t get a whole lot of information on it, but the series is called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. In the reveal trailer, we get a glimpse at the story and characters featured, so we do know that Leon and Claire are working together inside the infamous mansion and are protecting the President. I’d say that is pretty standard Resident Evil lore groundwork, honestly.
