GTA 6 Will Reportedly Will Be Out In 2025, Will Come With Fortnite Similar Evolving Map
Fans of the franchise have been waiting for almost 8 years for a new Grand Theft Auto game on a new generation of consoles, and according to one leaker with a solid track record, that chasm between main entry releases won’t be coming out until 2025. Something which Take-Two’s statements during a recent shareholder event backed up.
Tom Henderson–who earlier leaked Call of Duty and Battlefield 2042 details–has released a new video and in it, he declared that GTA 6 will be set in a modern-day variant of Vice City. This runs counter to earlier reports that GTA 6 would be set in the 1980s, with Henderson claiming that developer Rockstar wants to guarantee as much freedom as possible for its staff when it comes to producing content for GTA Online.
Henderson also talked about the potential for the GTA 6 map to change over time, which is like how Epic Games regularly overhauls its Fortnite map during end-of-season events. There was also a mention of GTA 6 having various playable characters, just like GTA 5 introduced to the series. Even if these rumors are correct, fans are going to wait for a long time due to many factors. Henderson said that Rockstar has placed greater importance on employee wellbeing in the wake of numerous reports detailing the crunch work conditions that were executed before Red Dead Redemption 2 came out.
The new GTA is supposed to be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and, as they are new to the market, Rockstar is supposedly waiting for more systems to be sold so as to maximize sales. Henderson also added that since Rockstar wants to evade delaying the game, GTA 6 won’t be revealed early and thanks to the constant revenue stream of GTA 5, Rockstar has the time of being able to take its sweet time with development on this new game.
It’s worth being suspicious of any GTA 6 reports until Rockstar officially announces the game, but these claims do line up with some previous leaks.
