Jet Skiing Is Possible in Shallow Waters Now – AlumaSki
The AlumaSki, a new personal watercraft, offers a more durable alternative. Combining the shallow water durability and payload of an aluminum river boat with the affordability and fuel efficiency of jet skis, the personal watercraft uses a quarter-inch thick unibody aluminum hull, ensuring it can survive everything the shallow water has to offer. Even better, the bottom is near-flat, which improves stability, minimizes the chance that it comes in contact with potentially damaging objects under the water, and allows it to draft problem-free on only two inches of water.
Made by Mackinnon Marine Technologies, the AlumaSki measures 12 x 5 feet (l x w), making it a better option than regular river boats for use in narrower bodies of water. While compact, it can handle payloads of up to 1,000 pounds, so you can bring all the gear you need to find the Loch Ness monster in the Scottish lake serving as her haunting grounds. It’s powered by a 1,052 cc water-cooled 4-cylinder motor, with a 155mm high-pressure pump and a dry weight of 950 pounds. This combination is enough to let it travel at maximum speed of 60 mph.
The AlumaSki is currently on preorder directly from the official website. Price starts at $24,995.
