Jurassic World Evolution 2 Update Celebrates Jurassic Park’s 30th Anniversary
Exciting news for fans of Jurassic World Evolution 2! The highly anticipated game has just made its way to PlayStation Plus Essential as part of the June 2023 lineup. Coinciding with this release is a significant new patch that celebrates the 30th anniversary of the iconic film, Jurassic Park. Set to drop on June 8, this Jurassic World Evolution 2 update brings a range of exciting features and decorative elements inspired by director Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur masterpiece.
While this patch may not be as extensive as previous updates, it offers a selection of decorative items that pay homage to the classic Jurassic Park film. Players can now enjoy the inclusion of the Les Gigantes mural, the original Jurassic Park fence to construct enclosures, T. rex and Alamosaurus skeletons, a statue of the beloved Mr. DNA character, and even the iconic big pile of poop. These are just a taste of the more than 20 new decorations that Frontier Developments has promised in this update. A comprehensive list of all the additions will be unveiled on June 8 alongside the patch, although only a handful of the items have been showcased through screenshots so far. Interestingly, the big pile of poop, while mentioned, was not included in the released screenshots.
Jurassic Park, released in theaters on June 11, 1993, garnered widespread acclaim and remains a beloved cinematic masterpiece. Jurassic World Evolution 2, which initially launched in November 2021 to decent reviews (with a score of 79 on OpenCritic), has since received continuous support from its developers, featuring a combination of free updates and paid DLCs. Several of these updates, including the current one, have paid tribute to the films that inspired the game. For example, the Dominion Biosyn expansion introduced a scenario inspired by Jurassic World Dominion, while the Dominion Malta expansion included actors from the film and dinosaur skins based on its characters.
With this new patch and the addition of Jurassic World Evolution 2 to PlayStation Plus Essential, fans of the franchise can immerse themselves even further in the thrilling world of Jurassic Park. Whether you’re constructing enclosures, managing dinosaurs, or enjoying the nostalgic references, this update is sure to delight both Jurassic Park enthusiasts and gaming enthusiasts alike.
