Meet Facebook’s Portal, A New Video Chatting Smart Device

Facebook is working on Portable for the past two years and this new gadget will retail for around $499. It comes with a lot of new features and is designed essentially for video chat and it will come with a camera with facial recognition and a big display.

The Facebook Portal device will also be designed to take on devices like the Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices, although its main focus will be in messaging.

The Portal will also be able to play music from a range of streaming services like Spotify and also video streaming services like Netflix. The device will apparently be made official at the Facebook Developer Conference in May and you will be able to buy it right after it.
