Meet Playdate, A Tiny Handheld Gaming Device With a Big Bang

Check out this new handheld gaming device which has just been announced and it is the unique little gadget you have ever seen. Say hello to the Playdate, a little Gameboy like a gadget that features a D-pad and 2 face buttons. Ok, that sounds pretty regular so far so what’s so different about the Playdate? Well for one it comes with a black and white screen in these futuristic 4K times and two, it comes with a crank, yes, a crank. Now, it doesn’t do that what you are thinking, it isn’t used to power the Playdate. No, this crank is designed for use in gameplay! The Playdate is being produced by Panic, famous for there mobile games, as a way to offer a different experience in today’s modern gaming world.

The Playdate will come with one game included in the box but over the course of a 12-week season, new games will be added into the lineup. Panic has stated that “Some are short, some long, some are innovative, some which you are already accounted too. But all are fun.” Panic has even collected a number of developers to make exclusive games for the device including the creator of Katamari Damacy, Keita Takahashi. The Playdate will hit the stores in 2020, at a price of $149.99, with pre-orders opening up later this year. It will definitely be exciting to see how the Playdate actually does in this day and age of color.
