Microsoft is Bricking the Xbox Ones of Gears Of War Leakers
By now you have probably heard that content regarding the upcoming Gears of War remake for the Xbox One has been leaked. The studio behind the game, VMC Games, and Microsoft aren’t very happy about it. And it seems that Microsoft is giving out some punishment to those who leaked the videos. Microsoft will be officially bricking the Xbox One units of these perpetrators. All I can say is — they deserved it, It is hard work developing a game and when someone leaks it online just for fun or whatever financial reason. Companies should act in this manner and punish them as see fit. Kudos to Microsoft.
This info comes from an email that VMC sent out to testers that was obtained by Kotaku. A portion of the email says, “This being said, as per that agreement with the testers in fault, Microsoft also permanently disabled their Xbox LIVE accounts (as well as other suspected accounts present on their Xbox One kits) and temporarily blocked all of their Xbox One privileges – meaning that for a period of time which Microsoft decides on depending on the severity of the offense, their Xbox One is entirely unusable.”
