Minecraft Caves & Cliffs

Mojang today announced it’s breaking Minecraft’s Caves & Cliffs update into two parts. Part one will be out later this summer as it was planned and the second half will be out in the Holiday season.

One of the most asked updates in Minecraft history, Caves & Cliffs will revise the way worlds are created in the game, adding new cave biomes, decent mountains, and all kinds of new building blocks. The update was revealed this past October during Minecraft Live 2020, with a projected release date of summer 2021.

According to today’s announcement, Caves & Cliffs has been divided into two pieces. The first part, which the accompanying FAQ says will come with “cute and fun mobs, cool items, and new blocks,” will arrive this summer. The second part will come out during the 2021 holiday season and will come with the sweeping changes to the world generation that give the Caves & Cliffs update its title.

It looks like a major part of the update is happening at the end of the year, with some sparkling new things halfway through to keep players happy and engaged.
