Minecraft The Wild Update

The second part of the Caves and Cliffs update is not out yet, but Mojang has set Minecraft in full speed ahead with a new update. The block building sandbox’s next huge update, called ‘The Wild’,  and will be released in 2022.

With this new Minecraft update, Mojang says that it wants to honor the wilderness of Minecraft’s Overworld by making some of its biomes have a more distinct identity. An example given was the Birch Forest biome, which for now doesn’t have that much going for it. The Wilds update would renew the biome, making the trees taller and more spread out with a lot of space for wildflowers and shrubs. Suddenly, one of Minecraft’s boring biomes now has a character.

The new update will also add a new area called Mangrove Swamp, a part of the world that will come with a new mangrove wood type, a mud block that lets you make mud bricks, boats with chests, and a new frog mob. Yep, frogs are coming to the game now.

There are also updates with the Deep Dark biome. Originally announced for the Caves and Cliffs update, Mojang has now relocated it to release as part of The Wilds update—but it is definitely worth the wait. Mojang has now confirmed that the biome is not only a cave but a completely ruined civilization of deserted cities packed with treasures. The change of the Deep Dark also sees our creepy friend the Warden get pushed back, but it gives us lots of time to create the courage to face those subterranean monsters.

Mojang has revealed that The Wild update will be smaller than Caves and Cliffs—an update so huge the studio had to release it in two parts.
