MotoGP 23 release date
We finally have an official MotoGP 23 release date. Previous games in the series were released in late April. But you won’t be playing MotoGP 23 then, unfortunately.
Instead, MotoGP 23 will release on 8 June 2023. This is much later than previous games, pushing the title dangerously close to the expected release window of F1 23.
Why this year’s game is releasing later than usual is unclear, but it’s a shame given that the MotoGP season has already kicked off and will be five races deep by the time the game comes out.
As expected, MotoGP 23 will release on PS4 & Xbox One as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Price and pre-order bonuses
Get ready for some adrenaline-pumping racing action as MotoGP 23 gears up for release! Pre-orders for this highly anticipated game are about to go live, generating a wave of excitement among racing enthusiasts. Although the official website currently displays a pre-order button that doesn’t redirect anywhere, rest assured that it will be fully functional soon. Additionally, the console store pages are expected to go live in the near future, offering more avenues for pre-ordering the game.
Now, let’s talk about the price. If MotoGP 22 is any indication, we don’t anticipate a significant change in the pricing for MotoGP 23. In the previous installment, the PS5 version of the game was priced at £54.99, providing gamers with the ultimate racing experience on Sony’s next-gen console. Meanwhile, the PS4 version carried a slightly lower price tag of £40.00 on Amazon, making it an attractive option for fans still enjoying the previous console generation.
While specific pricing details for MotoGP 23 are yet to be confirmed, it’s reasonable to expect a similar pricing structure as its predecessor. Whether you’re eager to embrace the cutting-edge features of the PS5 version or prefer the more affordable option on the PS4, MotoGP 23 promises to deliver heart-stopping races, realistic physics, and a thrilling gaming experience that will leave you craving more.
Stay tuned for further updates on pre-order availability, bonuses, and any surprises that might come along the way. Strap on your virtual helmet, rev your engines, and prepare for the next installment of the MotoGP franchise. The race is about to begin!
Career mode
MotoGP 23’s highly anticipated career mode brings an exciting addition in the form of a dynamic social media platform, allowing players to engage with riders, teams, and manufacturers in a whole new way. Your interactions on social media will have a direct impact on how AI opponents perceive and react to you on the race track, adding an immersive layer of realism and depth to the gameplay experience.
In addition to the captivating social media feature, MotoGP 23 introduces a Turning Points system, revolutionizing the progression through different classes based on your on-track performances. This innovative system enables you to advance faster within the game, rewarding your skill and dedication.
The much-loved Managerial Career mode returns in MotoGP 23, empowering players to either create their own team from scratch or join an existing real-life one. As a team manager, you will have complete control over every aspect of your team’s strategy, including bike development, staff recruitment, and overall team management. This immersive mode allows you to experience the thrill and challenges of running a professional racing team.
One of the exciting customizable features in MotoGP 23 is the ability to tailor the season according to your preferences. You have the freedom to handpick the Grand Prix events you wish to participate in from various calendars, providing a personalized and unique racing experience.
Recognizing the importance of catering to newcomers, MotoGP 22 introduced an enhanced tutorial mode, offering concise and informative gameplay sessions with custom rules to help players grasp the basics of the game more effectively. Building upon this success, MotoGP 23 continues to prioritize accessibility with the introduction of the MotoGP Academy. This new feature acts as a training ground, imparting valuable skills and techniques to help players improve their riding style and achieve faster lap times. Additionally, an Adaptive Difficulty System provides guidance through pop-up messages, offering useful tips for adjusting the game’s difficulty level, ensuring a smooth learning curve for all players.
With the inclusion of these diverse game modes, MotoGP 23 is set to captivate both seasoned veterans and newcomers alike, offering an immersive and thrilling racing experience that caters to a wide range of players’ preferences and skill levels.
Riders & Teams
As this is the official MotoGP game for the 2023 season, all of the riders and teams are fully licensed in-game. This includes new champion Francesco Bagnaia, who stays with Ducati.
MotoGP 22 included over 120 official riders from the 2022 season, so we expect a similar number for MotoGP 23.
Changes to the line-ups next year include Jack Miller heading to KTM, replacing Miguel Oliveira, who goes to Aprilia. Pol Espargaro transferred to GasGas, with Joan Mir heading to Honda to replace him.
Moto2 champion Augusto Fernandez is this season’s sole rookie rider.
New tracks
After years of disruption, normality resumed in MotoGP’s calendar last season. There are several changes from the 2022 calendar though, with new races making their debut for 2023 and old ones being discontinued.
A new round joins the MotoGP 23 calendar in the form of the Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit.

There will be three rounds in Spain this season, as the Grand Prix of Aragon has been discontinued. Similarly, the Finnish Grand Prix is officially off, so there will probably be no Kymi Ring in this game.
So, there are 20 rounds in 2023 but there could be more circuits included in MotoGP 23 thanks to historical content!
Cross-play multiplayer
Exciting news awaits MotoGP fans as the upcoming release, MotoGP 23, promises a groundbreaking feature: cross-play multiplayer support. For the first time in the franchise’s history, riders will have the opportunity to race together across different gaming platforms, specifically PlayStation and Xbox consoles. This means that players on either system can compete against each other, fostering a larger and more interconnected MotoGP community.
However, it’s worth noting that cross-play functionality will not extend to the PC or Nintendo Switch versions of the game. While PlayStation and Xbox players can revel in the joy of joining races together, PC and Nintendo Switch users will be limited to competing solely within their respective platforms. Though this may be disappointing for PC and Nintendo Switch players eager to test their skills against their console counterparts, there’s still plenty of thrilling gameplay to be experienced within each platform’s dedicated player base.
In addition to cross-play, MotoGP 23 also brings back a beloved feature: two-player local split-screen mode. This means that players can enjoy the exhilaration of competitive racing in the same physical space, whether it’s with friends or family members. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch version will not support local split-screen, but players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC can look forward to sharing the excitement of split-screen multiplayer.
With these enhancements, MotoGP 23 aims to provide an immersive and inclusive gaming experience, catering to the preferences and desires of riders across various platforms. Whether you prefer the convenience of online cross-play or the nostalgia of local split-screen racing, MotoGP 23 strives to deliver intense motorcycle racing action, bringing players closer together and creating memorable moments on the virtual track.
Historical content
The Nine Season was an incredible addition to MotoGP 22. This lets you relive the 2009 season, one of the most memorable seasons in MotoGP history.
Milestone hasn’t confirmed if this mode will return or if another similar game mode will be introduced for MotoGP 23, but we’d love another look back at a classic season.
As for Historical tracks, Donnington, Brno and Laguna Seca have all been included in recent games. Tracks such as Estoril were added because of “Nine”, so it’s unclear if they’ll make a return.
