My Little Pony looks innocent franchise which targets the younger kids, however, a group of developers called Mane6, is making a fighting game which is inspired by the My Little Pony franchise and the game they are making is not innocent at all.
Mane6 begun development for the game almost five years ago, Hasbro, the company who officially owns the My Little Pony franchise, has already sent a cease and desist order on the game. However, the team behind the game has been very real about the project and changed the title of the project to Them’s Fightin’ Herds and even started an IndieGoGo campaign that was able to raise a $600,000, which is quite a lot for a game.
Mane6 was even engaged by the head of the art team of the TV series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, not to stop the team from developing the game, but to offer help to design the characters that will be a legal iterations of Hasbro’s magical ponies.
The game will also have a story mode and they are calling it Unique Overworld Story Mode, where players can explore the world of Foenum and unlock many costumes and special fights in RPG style. and this is not it there is also an online multiplayer system will also be available that will allow players to play with friends, make your own avatars, and play through the Story Mode and PVP/PVE gameplay.
Humble Bundle is also revealed in an update via IndieGoGo that, “Humble Bundle has provided us with the funding necessary to continue supporting Them’s Fightin Herds during and after we reach the final milestone of our promised crowdfund content,” Mane6 said referring to the upcoming “Goat DLC and Goat Story.”
Them’s Fightin’ Herds will feature a standard 2D fighter game style, with six different ponies to choose from. Mane6 also revealed that more characters will be added to the game once its released. The game is set to release on February 22, and will be coming to the Windows PC.
