Neil Blomkamp’s GRAN TURISMO Movie Got New Cast Members
Director Neil Blomkamp got some amazing cast members for his next film project Gran Turismo. Orlando Bloom and David Harbour are set to star in the movie along with Archie Madekwe. We now know that Djimon Hounsou (Shazam!), Geri Halliwell-Horner (Six Underground), Daniel Puig(Naomi), Maeve Courtier-Lilley (The Outpost), Emelia Hartford (A Hollywood Christmas), Pepe Barroso (High Seas), and Sang Heon Lee (XO, Kitty) have joined the cast.
The movie is based on the famous and iconic racing video game series of the same name, from Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions.
The movie will tell the true story of Jann Mardenborough, and it’s described as “the ultimate wish-fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver.”
Jann was able to translate his impressive Gran Turismo gaming skills into real life through a series of Nissan competitions, resulting in him becoming a professional race car driver.
Blomkamp is directing from a script by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin, with PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing alongside Doug Belgrad and Dana Brunetti.
Sony Pictures will release the movie in theaters on August 11, 2023.
