 Assassin’s Creed

Assassins Creed is one of the popular Ubisoft game franchises, which has given players top-tier games with special settings. The most recent Assassin’s Creed game was set during the Viking raid of England, whereas the one before was set in old Greece and one before Egypt.

The approach used in Assassin’s Creed games has been to choose a specific historical era to place the game in.

As Ubisoft has been keeping lips sealed for some time now about the new iteration of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, we finally have some information on the new setting of the new Assassin’s Creed game.

In a recent Tweet, reliable insider, Jeremy Penter, has revealed the Era of the new Assassin’s Creed game, saying that it will be set up in the Aztecs Era.

Aztec Era flourished in Central Mexico and ruled from 1300 to 1521. This will be a fascinating take because we have already seen Assassins from Mayans in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

Also, the Aztecs seem like a fascinating prospect due to their radical thoughts and a wide assortment of Gods and Warriors with a unique set of armors. They were known to sacrifice human beings to satisfy the gods. Therefore they also had a dark side.

It also has deep roots in Spanish history. In 1519, Emperor Moctezuma II established contact with the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés and his contingent of soldiers.

In the events that ensued throughout the next two years, the Aztec Empire was finally defeated by a force of around 1,500 Spanish soldiers supported by hundreds of thousands of indigenous followers, who laid a decisive siege upon the capital of Tenochtitlan in 1520.

He also bought an undercover Assasin. The Spanish, including Giovanni, were eventually led to the Main Temple, where they witnessed the Aztec clergy sacrificing one of their own as a tribute to the gods. During the ritual, Giovanni noticed a priest holding a Crystal Skull, and he immediately recognized it as the Piece of Eden he had been looking for; he quietly assassinated the priest and took the skull.

Spaniards later massacred the Aztecs as they were disgusted by the human sacrifice of one of their own. Then later the Spaniards fled under the cover of night but were blocked by the Aztecs. But some of the Spaniards were able to escape.

It will also be fascinating to see what will be Ubisoft’s take on the new game. The last 3 Assassin’s Creed games, Origins, Valhalla, and Odyssey, have been action role-playing.

This year is the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and Ubisoft has revealed they will release the new Assassin’s Creed in September in a live stream.
