New RED DEAD ONLINE Update Will Come With Three Unique Roles
The new additions to Red Dead Online set the foundation for the game’s future with a variety of improvements designed to allow players to travel freely and experience the world in their own preferred way.
The world will develop again with the new specialist roles – unique paths of progression, each giving their own experience with customed gameplay factors and benefits that will allow players to become even more strongly connected to their character and the decisions they make as they occupy the world of Red Dead Online. This significant change points to the long term future of Red Dead Online – a world where players accompany in an uncomfortable peace, choosing to band collectively or striking out alone, fighting to survive in a world full of perils and possibilities as they build a life for themselves in the online world.
The first three Roles in an ongoing series: the Bounty Hunter, the Trader, and the Collector.
If you want to be a Bounty Hunter for a life of constant action on both sides of the law. A licensed Bounty Hunter can hunt down targets and capture – or kill, depending on how honorable you are in the game. Occasionally, a player who is nearby with a high enough bounty can also be a preferred target. Progression will unlock special items like a strengthened lasso for hardened targets, as well as complex gun-spinning tricks and excellent tracking skills like the ability to use Eagle-Eye while running, galloping on horseback and many other unique skills, items and upgrades of sorts.
If you choose the life of a Trader is the way to go then you have become a burgeoning capitalist as you establish and develop a business from your Camp. Thanks to your trusty companion Cripps’ experience of furs, skins, and butchery, you’ll be able to take on new possibilities to get materials and provide valuable goods to sell. Improving your skill as a Trader unlocks the capability to upgrade your Camp with a Weapons Locker, Stew Pot and even provide any canine friend to warn of imminent attacks on the camp. As your business expands, you can get new skills, advance your satchel or add new assets to your business like catching wagons to bring in larger hauls and a lot more.
A Collector likes to explore the free world for rare and expensive items. Look for a mystic traveling saleswoman in the wild to get started down the Collector’s path, searching for lost gems, rare arrowheads and other treasures to sell as single pieces or highly valuable items. As you progress, you will get access to tools that help your search including Refined Binoculars, a Horse Lantern, and even a Metal Detector, as well as getting additional skills to assist you to seek and find the world’s most valuable rarities.
As you progress into each role, it will grow and develop your experience within the world and the characters around you, showing other gamers how far you’ve advanced down the path of each specific role. You’ll also be able to play and progress over all three roles at once or choose to ply your trade in just the roles of your choice.
There is much more to show about becoming a Bounty Hunter, Trader, and Collector in the upcoming weeks ahead, so stay tuned.
In addition to these roles, the next DLC will also come with a variety of new content and improvements aimed at enhancing all your experiences inside the world of Red Dead Online, whether within roles, competitive modes or just exploring free roam.
Across the changes are being made to fight and movement to provide for a more active control system that still feels real. Additional damage reduction to Defensive players is also coming into next updates, and the game will now learn your preferred playing style (Offensive or Defensive) when you exit the game and relaunch. There will also be many more lootable things to be located throughout the world, like boxes on wagons or the special Gold Tooth on an unlucky soul.
