New World of Warcraft Subscription Comes With Expansions Through To Legion

Blizzard Entertainment revealed this month all the changes to its subscription model for the World of Warcraft which has been much the same for the last 14 years since the game’s launch. Preparing the game for the launch of the new Battle for Azeroth content, Blizzard has rolled out a new Battle for Azeroth pre-patch enabling the new subscription which allows those new to the game to experience all the expansions through to Legion included in a monthly subscription.

Previously gamers would need to purchase Battle Chest, bundles to gain access to the expansions before then having to subscribe for $15 or £10 per month to play the game. “Today we’re also updating the World of Warcraft: Complete Collection for new subscribers, which includes all seven expansions—including a digital pre-purchase of the upcoming Battle for Azeroth—30 days of game time, and one Level 110 Character Boost.”

The battle for Azeroth will be officially released next month on August 14th onwards and is now available to preorder priced at $50.

“Azeroth paid a terrible price to end the apocalyptic march of the Legion’s crusade—but even as the world’s wounds are tended, it is the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde that may prove the hardest to mend. In Battle for Azeroth, the fall of the Burning Legion sets off a series of disastrous incidents that reignites the conflict at the heart of the Warcraft saga. As a new age of warfare begins, Azeroth’s heroes must set out on a journey to recruit new allies, race to claim the world’s mightiest resources, and fight on several fronts to determine whether the Horde or Alliance will lead Azeroth into its uncertain future.”
