RoboCop will be getting his own full game for the first time since 2003. Publisher Nacon along with MGM and developer Teyon revealed RoboCop: Rogue City, a “brand-new story” that’s based on the first 3 movies. It is programmed to be released sometime in 2023 on “consoles and PC,” but those consoles were not mentioned.

The genre wasn’t specified either, but, given Teyon’s early work, it has a fair chance of being a first-person shooter. The trailer just gives a quick glimpse of the city, logo, and RoboCop’s bottom half. Nacon and Teyon said they are working together with MGM to produce an “authentic” game that is “faithful to the franchise’s DNA.” Nacon CEO Alain Falc spoke in uncertain terms about the partnership.

“We’re delighted to be teaming up with MGM to offer a new vision of a popular franchise that was created over 30 years ago,” said Falc. “This game is the perfect fit to pursue our aim of offering different gaming experiences to the widest possible audience.”

The team created Rambo: The Video Game in 2014 and Terminator: Resistance in 2019 and 2020, depending on the territory. Both were first-person shooters; Rambo has a 37 average on OpenCritic while Terminator has a 55.
