Sandisk Released a New 1TB Slim Thumbdrive
We all wished for bigger and faster thumb drives, Sandisk has revealed a prototype which is bigger and better.
This little gizmo doesn’t look any different from the drives you see in a store checkout line these days. It comes with a whopping 1TB of data storage into a chassis that SanDisk says is the world’s smallest.
For USB-C flash drives, There are lots of smaller drives in the wild right now. There are drives with twice the capacity, as well… but Sandisk has put together a thumb drive with a number of features that’s quite hard to look away from.
The USB-C plug makes it very adaptable. You can use the drive with current PCs and Macs as well as many Android devices. File transfers will be lightning-fast, too, and this is a very good thing because to me waiting for files to copy on a thumb drive feels like a lifetime.
Kingston’s 2TB Data Traveler Ultimate GT has more room for all your Blu-Ray movies, but it’s also an inch thick and can’t be plugged into your phone but this new drive can be plugged into phones and can be tucked anywhere like normal smaller thumb drives.
SanDisk will have similar USB-C drives available soon, but it may be a while before their 1TB model makes it onto store shelves. The price isn’t known yet either. Their 128GB USB-C drive currently sells around for $40… so this can be around $200 or more, just don’t lose it.
