Micro Game Gear

To celebrate the 60th anniversary, Sega has chosen to take one of its most famous systems and re-release it in the micro version. It’s not the Dreamcast or the Saturn, but it is a handheld Game Gear. I used to love back in the day I even bought the TV Tuner of it to watch some micro tv in my room.

Micro Game Gear

It’s releasing on October 6 in Japan for ¥4980, which is about USD$45. There will be four colors available: black, blue, yellow, and red.

The micro handheld is only 80mm wide, while the screen is a small 1.15 inches across, though it’ll be easier to see if you preorder all four handhelds at once, as you’ll get a free copy of the original Game Gear’s “Big Window” magnifying glass.

Every different colours comes with four separate games installed on it.

The black model comes with:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Puyo Puyo 2
  • Out Run
  • Royal Stone

The blue variant includes:

  • Sonic Chaos
