Starfield

Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG blockbuster, Starfield, has soared to new heights since its launch earlier this month, garnering widespread acclaim from critics and breaking records for both Bethesda and the Xbox platform. While the game’s initial reception has been largely positive, the development team is committed to enhancing the player experience further.

Despite Starfield’s relatively low bug count compared to previous Bethesda titles, a post-launch update has been rolled out to address some lingering issues. Available now for PC gamers and Xbox Series X/S players, Starfield’s update 1.7.29 aims to bolster stability, particularly for the Xbox Series X/S versions, and improve overall performance to reduce crashes and enhance the game’s framerate.

Notably, this update has tackled bugs that affected three of Starfield’s quests: All That Money Can Buy, Into the Unknown, and Shadows in Neon. These quests should now offer smoother and more enjoyable experiences for players venturing through the cosmic expanse.

But Bethesda has grand plans for Starfield’s future, as evidenced by the sneak peek shared alongside the update 1.7.29 patch notes. Upcoming updates will introduce features like brightness and contrast controls, an HDR calibration menu, an FOV slider, and Nvidia DLSS support for the PC version. PC players with 32:9 ultrawide monitors will also rejoice, as they’ll soon receive dedicated support. Plus, a nifty addition will allow characters to instantly consume food instead of the laborious task of storing it in their inventory.

For those eagerly anticipating fresh content, Bethesda has confirmed at least two expansions for Starfield, with the first one dubbed “Shattered Space.” It’s worth noting that the premium DLC for Starfield won’t be free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, except for those who opted for the Premium Edition Upgrade to secure early access to these expansions. This means that dedicated fans will have plenty to explore and enjoy in the ever-expanding universe of Starfield.
