Take-Two: BioShock is Coming Back
BioShock is still a permanent franchise despite closing down Irrational Games in 2014. Levine closed down Irrational to focus on narrative-driven games for Take-Two and his next project is still a mystery.
According to Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick it will be “highly creative and innovative.”“I’m not going to steal Ken’s thunder, but we’re thrilled to be in business with Ken.
What I can say is you would expect that Ken would work on something highly creative and innovative.
I think that would be a reasonable expectation for whatever he does next,” Zelnick said at the MKM Partners Investor Day conference in New York City.
Zelnick reveals that the “the franchise is in the hands of 2K. They’ll make announcements in due time about any upcoming releases.
But BioShock is unquestionably a permanent franchise for our company and one that we do believe in.”
Take Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that a new BioShock game is in development by 2K Marin in California.
The last game in BioShock franchise, BioShock Infinite was released in March 2013. It has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide & won year-end accolades, including Game of the Year from several gaming publications.
