THE LORD OF THE RINGS 5E Tabletop RPG Is Out Now!

In 2011, Free League Publishing introduced The One Ring TTRPG series, a tabletop game based on The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the Rings 5E TTRPG set includes two books, a game master screen (referred to as the “lore master” screen), and a compendium focused on Rivendell. The compendium features a map of the valley and a plan of the house itself, providing players with detailed information about this iconic location.

The core book is a stunningly designed and illustrated hardback volume spanning 236 pages. It serves as the centerpiece of the set and equips players with everything they need to create 5E adventures set in the beloved fantasy world of Middle-earth. Within its pages, players will find descriptions of six original heroic cultures from the land of Eriador, six new classes, a wide range of formidable adversaries, and comprehensive rules for journeys, councils, wondrous artifacts, and the subtle magic that permeates Middle-earth.

The second book, titled Shire Adventures, is a 104-page hardback volume that delves into the Shire, the peaceful home of the hobbits. This book provides an in-depth exploration of the Shire, presenting rich details about its inhabitants, locations, and way of life. Additionally, it includes five short adventures and seven pre-generated characters, featuring well-known Bagginses, Tooks, and Brandybucks. The contents of Shire Adventures are adapted from the Starter Set for The One Ring RPG, making it a valuable addition to this 5E adaptation.
