Considering how much progress was made in 2020 and how developers blew our collective minds with new releases and titles, there is a lot of anticipation for this year and what it could bring for the gaming space.

According to estimates, the gaming space is expected to grow at an annual growth rate of 10.2% from 2022 to 2030. And, in line with the opportunities in front of them, developers have also been working round the clock to bring impressive titles to gamers. Anticipation is also building quickly – with everything from new games to controllers and other new gadgets set to be released in the next few months.

In this list, we’ll look at some of the games that are already getting some buzz ahead of their releases this year:

RESIDENT EVIL 4

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Over the years, Capcom has become a major gaming house, and we’ve all loved their titles. Following the release and reception of the “Resident Evil 2” remake, the company appears to be doubling down on its remake strategy by releasing rehashes of some of its most popular games.

The next remake in line is that of “Resident Evil 4.” And based on initial reviews, this game could be a huge draw for Capcom. The game is expected to include fresher graphics as well as more intense gameplay. It’s unclear whether Capcom will be adding new storylines to the mix, but that won’t be a surprise.

Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2

Expected in April, “Dead Island 2” appears to be a pretty fresh take on the prequel. Following the trailer at Gamescom 2022 and the announcement that the game will be available on consoles and PC, gamers have been expecting this title for a while now.

After about a decade of development work, “Dead Island 2” appears set for its moment in the sun. The adventure game will include players vying with zombies and fighting to retake Los Angeles from their undead counterparts. It will also provide different weapon options to players, so they enjoy greater flexibility.

Redfall

Redfall

“Redfall” is an open-world, co-op game from Arkane that was expected to launch in 2022. But, Arkane eventually delayed it to the first half of this year.

From what we can see, it looks like Arkane is about to reward our patience with a pretty awesome game. Initial trailers for “Redfall” have shown the game featuring a hybrid stealth shooter with different plot twists and action points.

“Redfall” will allow players to choose between one of four heroes. Each of these heroes can use weapons and magic, and the objective will be to fight an evil vampire empire. If you’re a fan of the horror-western game genre or just someone who loves an awesome adventure game, then you’d most likely love this game for sure.

Street Fighter 6

In what is one of the biggest pieces of news in the gaming space, “Capcom has also announced that “Street Fighter 6” will come to consoles and PCs in June 2023. The game will feature several additions to its primary fighting engine – including a new art style, more characters, and several other improvements.

Additionally, the game will also come with a fresh control scheme that allows players to easily get started regardless of their skill level.

The “Street Fighter” series has always appealed to fans of combat games. Now, with this new title, gamers have something else to look forward to entirely.

FINAL FANTASY XVI

Final Fantasy XVI

The latest headline title in the “Final Fantasy” franchise, “Final Fantasy VXI” is set for a launch in June. There’s still a lot that we don’t know about the game so far, although we now know that the setting will be a mystical world inspired by medieval Europe.

Players here get into the character of the Archduke of Rosaria. They will be tasked with going on a magical quest, following the rise of Ifrit – a dark god who wreaks havoc in the land. There is also speculation that the game will feature gods in both its story and combat, so that’s a new element that players can look forward to.

“Final Fantasy” has always been one of those games where players can rest assured of nothing but the best. And, it looks like the latest title will be continuing down that line.
