The Upcoming HALO Series Will Be Similar To The “Scope and Scale” of GAME OF THRONES
The new upcoming Halo series being produced by Showtime and Steven Spielberg is looking to HBO’s Game of Thrones for motivation.
While speaking to The Game Maker’s Notebook podcast, 343 transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill, was asked about what the Halo TV show could be related to and that’s when he brought up Game of Thrones explaining that it will be similar in “scope and scale” as well as the “complexity of relationships”.
“It’s hard to find an analog. We talk about Game of Thrones a lot in terms of scope and scale and complexity of relationships. A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It’s something that [is mentioned] really lightly in the games… Some of that [Game of Thrones] complexity is interesting.”
That’s excellent and all, but hopefully when they bring the Halo series to a close, they truly give the fans, the story, and characters a proper ending! Sure, be motivated by the ideas of Game of Thrones all you want but make a proper series with a proper storyline and character development.
Kiki Wolfkill, also says there will be things that Halo won’t use from the HBO’s fantasy epic saying there will be “no incest” and that “If you’re looking for that, you won’t find it here.” But, I’m sure there will be awesome and mighty battles for us to enjoy!
Pablo Schreiber (American Gods, Orange is the New Black) has been cast in the role of Master Chief, who is “Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.”
Many episodes of the series will be directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) from writer Kyle Killen (Awake) who is also working as executive producer and showrunner. Production will start this fall in Hungary.
