The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Next Update Will Come With Netflix Series-Inspired Content
The next-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will come with some extra, free content which will be inspired by The Witcher on Netflix, according to CD Projekt Red at WitcherCon.
During a panel at the digital event, developers Philipp Weber and Błażej Augustynek said that the extra content would come with the next-gen upgrades, which are currently intended for release later this year. Though they did not say what the “extra items” would be, they said it was part of a tie-in with the Netflix series and might come with the ability to wear armor inspired by Geralt’s armor in the hit TV show.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s next-gen upgrade was revealed for the second half of 2021, and is expected to be a “visually and technically enhanced” version for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. This comes with ray tracing and faster loading times across the base game and all its expansions. It will be given as a standalone purchase for those who don’t own The Witcher 3 game, or as a free upgrade to anyone who owns already own the game on current generation consoles or PC.
