Video Games Coming Out In August
This August doesn’t bring any grand triple-A games, but it does have a bunch of indie games that all look like they’ll keep you busy in gaming. Check out our list of anticipated games that we are looking forward to trying out this month too.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout – August 4th
PC, PlayStation 4
First in August, we have a remarkably fun game, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. It was revealed that it would be released on the 4th and be a free game for Playstation Plus users. This new upcoming game takes the famous battle royal model and turns it into a confused race through many “Wipe Out” style obstructions until there is one left or another goal is complete.
Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition – August 7th
PC, PlayStation 4
After its grand entrance on the PS4 some years ago and a fine DLC, it is now coming to the Steam platform. It doesn’t promise better graphics or anything improved, but PC users will probably enjoy somewhat better load times and the amazing experience that PS4 players had. All of this is big hype for the upcoming sequel releasing on the PS5.
Fast and Furious Crossroads – August 7th
PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
I’m not expecting this game to be great, but I could be proven wrong but nothing stands out amazing. The racing and action look pretty good, but games made from films don’t have that grand of a track record. However, as the films have gotten more absurd and ridiculous with the enormous vehicles, crazy weapons, and crazy stunts, the franchise is more like a video game than ever. With all that considered, maybe the transit to video games might be the next biggest thing for the silly movie franchise.
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time – August 21
Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, Xbox One
The popular animated samurai is back. Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time takes a lot of the style from the show and mixes it well in jack move sets and combat style. The game looks like a blast and well-made action game that will surely honor the name and show of Samurai Jack.
Nexomon: Extinction – August 28th
Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
There are a few more great games coming out in August, but I wanted to point out Nexomon: Extinction. It looks like an amazing Pokémon-classic clone but with more JRPG elements. Side quests, greater story, and more awesome characters all look like great additions to make this more than just a Pokémon rip off game.
