What Will VR Bring This Year
VR has come a long way since the legendary Sensorama was first invented in 1957 and what once seemed to be possible only in science fiction books has now become a reality: virtual worlds are here and the technology that allows us to experience them to their full potential is currently being developed. However, there are many VR products available on the market and for different purposes. Let’s take a look at what is already here and what we can expect in the future.
If you already enjoy playing free online poker games, imagine the doors that Virtual Reality can open to your casino experience? What if you could step into a venue to place your bets and interact with other players without even setting a foot outside your house? From immersive 3-D options to multiplayer platform games, the possibilities of online VR casinos are highly appealing. With some site options out there, the one important element to take into account is what will be the best headset for this kind of online casino experience. Some of the VR gear available includes both tethered and mobile options but for the time being the best choices for playing at an online casino using seem to be tethered headsets, especially the very popular Oculus Rift. Developed by a division of Facebook Inc. this headset was released last year after five pre-production models were produced. Based on the rapid growth of VR, Oculus is currently developing new gear, including a standalone wireless headset that would be allegedly released next year.
Now that the technology to play VR games is available there are a series of games we can’t wait to get out hands-on. These include Doom VFR for PlayStation VR and HTC Vive, which will be released on December 1st, just in time for Christmas. Last year, a reboot of this classic game came out, and as much as we enjoyed it, a VR version would be hard to compete with. The next one on our list and with a release date set for fall this year, Skyworld – a strategy game that allows you to develop your own fantasy worlds – will be available on Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. But Fallout 4 VR seems to be the one we will play first, as it will reportedly be released on October 12. Set in a world of wastelands, battles, and adventures, it seems like it could become our favorite choice for the next season.
Other announcements have been made, but release dates are not confirmed yet. The one we look forward to the most is Lila’s Tale, which offers a crawler experience in which you can actually control Lila’s movements with your eyes. Triggering chain-reaction puzzles, this game seems to pose a true challenge with fantastic graphics and a truly immersive experience. We can’t wait to learn more about its release date.
And so, with Virtual Reality already in motion, frontiers have been expanded and pretty much everything seems possible when it comes to iGaming. However a logical step might be following the technological trend, sometimes it still seems impossible to believe that it is actually here. Nonetheless and in the words of Zuckerberg, head of one of the companies behind it, the bet is to actually make it part of people’s daily life.
