Collection of Vintage Games

An incredible woman was named the winner of two world records for having the biggest collection of LCD and playable gaming systems and it is incredible to see her collection, check out the video below if you want to see some of the best vintage games all in one place.

Linda Guillory’s two world records come from her collection of 1,599 LCD gaming systems and 2,430 playable gaming systems. And Guinness World Records declared Guillory of Richardson, Texas got the two records for her extensive collection of thousands of handheld, tabletop, and even watch-based gaming systems.

Guilllory’s collection also includes popular video games. In Guinness’ profile video, Guillory shows off a large cabinet of old video games, saying that she got every game Nintendo released in North America. All I want to know what she does for a living because we are doing it wrong.

According to Guinness, Guillory started accumulating games when she was 8 years old, finding a broken 1979 Red Conic basketball game. In the video, she said she repaired the handheld and fixed it herself so she could play again. She gathered a small collection of games until a house fire got some of them. Later, after a chat with her brother over who was the player, she chose to look up some of the vintage games she once owned to see if any were still around. She found and bought her beloved Pac-Man tabletop game, and from there, her collection started to grow.

“I wanted to see if I still could beat my high score,” Guillory said to Guinness. “As I searched, I saw dozens of games I always wanted as a child but never had.”

Guillory, an electrical engineer, and trying to share her enthusiasm for gaming with children and educate them on how to build gaming systems of their own. She also hopes to save her collection in a museum.

The best part about the games in her collection, though old, seems to be working perfectly. And she knows how to play them. I always thought, because of the delicate and rare nature of collections like these, that the items are for show not to use. But you can see in the video, she casually plucked a Toytronic football game out of a box then began to play the game.
