Saber Interactive revealed a while ago that they were preparing on bringing their famous co-op zombie shooter, World War Z: Aftermath, to next-gen consoles with some robust features. The frantic zombie shooter is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on January 24th and will contain some much-appreciated next-gen upgrades.

Firstly, it’s essential to note that owners of the original game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will all profit from a free upgrade to the new version. Players can get vivid 4K resolution and 60 FPS action on their respective platforms. Along with the new amazing visuals and performance boost, WWZA will also acquire a new mode fittingly titled Horde Mode XL which will be only available to the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions of the game. This new mode throws in a random wave of over 1,000 zombies to pummel through with your friends.

WWZA will also get some new features that will be available on all platforms, including the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game such as new weapons and an updated weapon progression system.
