Xbox Game Pass Shooter Atomic Heart Is ‘Entirely Single-Player’
Atomic Heart is one of the largest Xbox Game Pass launches happening in the first few months of 2023, with developer Mundfish’s crazy-looking shooter coming to the streaming service on February 21st. Ahead of that release, the team has spoken to outlet wccftech about all things Atomic Heart, including the game’s focus on single-player content.
When asked about DLC plans — including possible multiplayer add-ons — the team was pretty adamant that as of now, it has no plans for online play of any kind.
“The entire Atomic Heart experience will be single-player, focusing on the story and player experience. No multiplayer add-ons are planned at this time.”
However, that doesn’t mean DLC isn’t planned at all – far from it. Mundfish has four single-player add-ons mapped out, which will “significantly expand” different parts of the Atomic Heart experience.
“The DLCs are intended to greatly expand the player experience with new territories, quests, puzzles, enemies, as well as character and world stories.”
“We plan to significantly expand both the open-world territories, as well as new complexes and labs – where the player will learn more about the Atomic Heart world and will need to complete new challenges.”
These DLC packs will likely come at a premium and not as part of the Xbox Game Pass, but still, if the game is as entertaining as it looks so far we’re very curious in seeing the team’s comprehensive DLC plans comes to completion.
